The Women's Guild
The Women's Guild is a group of ladies who want to share their faith, their blessings, time and talents, and friendship. The Guild is called upon to help the Church and the community in many ways, whether it is to provide assistance to a student going to college with a scholarship or to cook and serve at some Parish events like the yearly Christmas dinner.
Funds for the Guild projects are primarily raised through the artistic talents of the Pine Cone Ladies and operation of the church Gift Shop. The ladies craft crosses, Christmas trees, Christmas wreaths, owls, and other items with a combination of dry leaves, various pine cones, cedar cones, dried flowers, and other items such as Christian figurines and rosaries.
The craft room is usually open on Thursday mornings for those interested in learning the arts and crafts of making a pine cross and other items sold in the gift shop. There are also evening craft nights, usually alternating with Guild meetings.
Another responsibility of the Guild is to keep the altar clean and beautiful and to provide weekly clean linens for the altar. The Guild usually assists in decorating the church or parish hall for the variety of events or holy days occurring throughout the year. At times, the Guild is also asked to help people who are ill, bedridden or unable to drive. The parish and community needs are great, and the spiritual reward that comes with helping is immeasurable.
The Women's Guild meets the third Tuesday of the month, at least 6 times a year, with a potluck dinner and business meeting. Meetings are started with a spiritual reading providing inspiration for the evening. Membership is open to anyone wanting to experience the joys of pine cone arts and crafts, volunteering in their church, giving to the community, and socializing.

The Women's Guild maintains and operates Our Lady of Tahoe's gift shop just off the narthex. The shop is open following Sunday Mass, and stocks a variety of books, prayer cards, sacramentals, et cetera. The Women's Guild also creates a number of crosses and decorations, which make popular gifts among our visitors. This is a selection of some of those items, but many more are available in the shop.
