Catholic Services Appeal

Our Lady of Tahoe's Catholic Services Appeal Ministry organizes CSA for our parish each year. CSA collects money from the parishes of the diocese to help with diocese-wide ministries. Thanks to everyone who gives so generously each year, Our Lady of Tahoe is able to lend our support to these important diocesan programs.

Thank you for your generous response to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal for our Diocese of Reno. Our assessment is $50,906. It is through your CSA pledges that Bishop Calvo meets the enormous needs of the Reno Diocese. Donors may fulfill a pledge on a monthly or in a one-time pledge. Thank you for your generosity. In the not-too-distant future, we will give you a complete review of where we stand with the CSA. I will say, at this point, you have been very generous in your response. We would ask those who have not made a gift or a pledge to consider doing so. Through your pledges and gifts to CSA, we are making progress toward the above amount. - Jan Roman-Gonzales, CSA Chair

Let us not forget Bishop’ Calvo’s Annual Appeal for our Diocese of Reno. Our assessment is $50,906 and we hope to reach 100% parishioner participation. If you have not already given, please consider doing so. Like the lady who said to me many years ago back in Ireland, “ None of us ever ended up in the poor house because we gave too much to God..” Pledge cards may be had from the office or consider giving a one-time gift keeping in mind that part of our Lenten journey concerns almsgiving—a splendid way to make a sacrificial gift for the good of the whole Diocese. Anything over our assessment of $50,906 will be returned to the parish for the beautification. - Jan Roman-Gonzales, CSA Chair.

My dear people...just a reminder of our responsibility as part of the greater church of the Diocese of Reno to contribute to the CSA Catholic Services Appeal. Sincere thanks to the families who have given a one time gift or who have made a pledge which can be paid off during the year, For those who have not given yet, I know I can count on your generosity. This year is quite challenging for us all with the renovation of the Church but let us support this important program—the Bishop’s annual appeal. We have been assessed $50,906; anything over and above this amount will be put into the fund for the renovation of the Church. - Jan Roman-Gonzales, CSA Chair.

Thanks to your deep faith and generosity, you have assisted Bishop Calvo through your one-time gift and pledges, to make the local Diocesan church more effective in its mission. Moved again by your deep faith and commitment, we will be able to reach our goal of $50,906 . Anything over and above this amount will be returned to our parish as in former years for the beautification of the Church. A little reminder that your financial gifts for the upkeep of the parish, are tax- deductible, especially your gift and pledge to the CSA….the Bishop’s annual appeal. There is a brochure available which you may have already received in the mail as to how your gift to the CSA is being spent. - Jan Roman-Gonzales, CSA Chair.

Prayer, fasting, penance and almsgiving are an integral part of our Lenten journey. Regarding the matter of almsgiving, my dear friends, supporting the CSA (Catholic Services Appeal) is an excellent opportunity to assist the Diocese in fulfilling its mission of preaching the Gospel and caring for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Our assessment this year as parish is $50,906. I sincerely thank those who already have supported the program. Gifts, so far, from our parishioners and those who see the parish as their spiritual-home-away-from home have come to $10,245. As in years gone by, I am confident I can count on you to help us reach our goal of $50,906. Anything over and above our assessment will be returned to us and assist us in paying for the beautification of the Church. A reminder that all your gifts to the CSA are tax–deductible. A word of thanks to Jan Roman-Gonzales, CSA Chair.

My dear people., just a reminder of our responsibility as parish and part of the greater Church in the Diocese of Reno to contribute in a sacrificial way to support the work of the Diocese. Your sacrificial giving may be paid over the next several months and in your sacrificial giving, may it be seen as part of our Lenten experience in almsgiving. We have been assessed $50, 906 so it is vitally important that we all support Bishop Calvo’s annual appeal. Anything over that amount will be returned to our parish. Thank you for your generosity! At this point, we hope you have received your pledge card and the information regarding how your CSA monies have been spent this past year. Keeping in mind, your gift to the Diocese is truly well–spent on the needs of people and parishes less fortunate than ourselves. A reminder that all your gifts to CSA are tax-deductible. A word of thanks to Jan Roman-Gonzales, CSA Chair.

My dear people, you don’t need me to remind you of the importance of caring for our neighbors who may be less fortunate than we ourselves are. Our Lord, in the Gospel, reminds us that charity equals love and it is the core teaching of the Gospel—“This is how all will know you are my disciples that you love one another. “ Each year we have a very special opportunity to help our brothers and sisters in this local church we call the Diocese of Reno. It is that time of year for us to show our support for Bishop Calvo and the Diocese and the many charitable services it provides for ALL. Together we reach out—-CSA KICK OFF 2017! Thank you for your attention today at Mass as you heard about the Catholic Services Appeal. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jan Roman-Gonzales, your parish CSA Chair.
