Our Lady of Tahoe welcomes Father John Corona this weekend as he fills in for Father Oliver at the Saturday and Sunday Masses.

Father John was born and raised in Wappingers Falls, NY, where his parents owned an Italian bakery and grocery store. In 1955, he graduated from Siena College, a Franciscan college in Loudenville, NY, near Albany. That was followed by military service in Fort Knox, KY and Frankfurt, Germany. He worked at IBM for 9-and-a-half years. He entered the Pope John the 23rd Seminary in Westin, Massachusetts in 1967, and was ordained as a priest in 1971.

From 1971-1977, Father John was an Associate Pastor, then the Pastor, of St. Christopher Catholic Church in North Las Vegas, NV. Then, for 22 years, he was the Pastor of St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville, NV, retiring in 1999.
